Race report:Sunday March 30th Race 1: Mark Shinn, Warren Selby, Neil Bonsall Tammie Green Race 2: Shinn, Selby, Bonsall, Green Final: Selby, Shinn, Bonsall, Green
Sunday March 23rd Race 1: Mark Shinn, Neil Bonsall, Tammie Green Race 2: Shinn, Warren Selby, Bonsall, Benstead, Steve Nash, Green Final: Selby, Shinn, Nash, Duncan McCraken, Benstead, Green Sunday March 9th. Stock Rods. Warren Selby won the final and took heat two but Mark Shinn ran him very close. Heat one, Jody Read was the first to lead, but further down the pack Selby and Shinn were really on a charge. The pair of them arriving at the head of the field after six laps, Selby with the lead. Shinn chipped away at the leader until Selby left a small gap and Shinn was through but Selby hung onto him until the end. Neil Bonsall in his first Stock rod race came through for third and judging from his grin thoroughly enjoying himself. Duncan McCraken fourth from Read and Lady racer Tammie Green in sixth. Incidentally seventh was Steve Buckberry. Result: Shinn, Selby, Bonsall, McCraken, Read, Green, Buckberry Heat two, Selby took the lead from the fifth lap and wasn’t troubled again, Shinn second this time, Bonsall third. Steve Buckberry reversed his earlier embarrassment by beating the Misses with seventh to her eighth. Result: Selby, Shinn, Bonsall, McCraken, Michael Benstead, Read The Final, Bonsall was the early leader from Steve Nash, Nash getting the better of their duel on the third lap. Selby got on terms by the seventh lap and went into the lead Bonsall following him through. Bonsall then came under pressure from Shinn, he denied him for five laps. Then Shinn’s greater experience saw him work away by and go after Selby but he couldn’t get near enough for a passing move, Bonsall taking his third, third of the day from McCraken, Michael Benstead and S Buckberry.
